At the conclusion of our Fall season, West Valley is intending to field at least 2 teams in 8U, 3 teams in 10U, and 2 teams in 12U for the Fall Heat season, which will consist of three tournaments. These teams start practicing as soon as November 10th and play 3-tournaments which will end on December 15th. These tournaments are played against other leagues in Southern California. If you would like to be considered for inclusion on a WVGS Fall Heat team, please read all of this information carefully, then go to the WVGS website to register the player online.
* NOTE: FILLING OUT THE ONLINE REGISTRATION DOES NOT GUARANTEE SELECTION TO ANY TEAM.
Tournament Dates:
West Valley - Sophia Priebe Memorial Tournament - Nov 15 & 16 2025
Simi Valley - Dec 5, 6 & 7 2025
ESO - Dec 12, 13 & 14 2025
The most important aspect of Heat registration is to accurately list all potential conflicts your player might have during the Fall Heat season, both for tournament weekends and also for weekday practices. Having conflicts does not prevent your player from being selected for a Heat team, and it is understood that unavoidable conflicts may arise. However, failure to report a known conflict could impact your player’s standing for future Heat consideration, so please do your best in this regard. The reason for this is because the slot your player may take is a slot that another dedicated and qualified player will not receive. Games are typically on Saturdays and Sundays, but Friday afternoon games are possible. Practices are often multiple days per week and typically begin at 4:00pm. The practice schedule is at the discretion of the manager.
In addition to your time commitment, the registration cost per Fall Heat player is $275. This amount includes tournament fees and field use. The cost does not include any uniforms, food, travel, or lodging expenses, which may be incurred depending on tournament location. Purchasing uniform tops and socks will be required for all players and is not included in the registration price. Scholarships are not available for All-Star play. Please make sure you can meet the financial obligation before committing to a team. Registration payment will be due by the end of the day on Tuesday, November 11th, two days after the teams are selected and announced.
Some divisions may have enough qualified players for more than 1 team. A player may NOT choose which team they are placed on. If you are selected to a "Gold" team, you cannot decline to play, and then be placed on the "Silver" team. In addition, the “Gold” team may call up players from the “Silver” team due to injuries or other unforeseen circumstances. This decision will be made solely by the Tournament Committee. If called up to the “Gold” team, the player or players must play for that team. Fall tournaments do not normally have separate gold/silver divisions, so all level teams will play against gold level teams.
Also note that although we would like to have 2 teams in 8U, 3 teams in 10U, and 2 teams in 12U regardless of the number of girls signed up we may not be able to make that many teams if the league determines there are not girls who will be able to support the team as a pitcher or a catcher. For the Fall 2025 Heat season we allow declarations for pitchers and catchers who would like to be selected on the second or third team. In 8U we allow 2 pitchers and 1 catcher per team, in 10U we allow 1 pitcher and 1 catcher per team, and in 12U we allow 1 player per team to declare. ALL declarations must be emailed to allstars@wvgs.org by November 7, 2025 at 11:00pm.
If you have daughters that are twins or sisters within the same age group, please identify during the registration whether you wish that they be selected on the same team, if they are both selected as Heat players. Please note if the twins/sisters are selected separately between the Gold and Silver teams (and the parent wishes them to be on the same team), the twin/sister initially selected on the Gold team will be placed on the Silver team. If one twin/sister is selected on either the Gold/Silver team and the other is not on either team, there is no automatic placement of the non-selected twin/sister.
Each Heat player’s family will be responsible for ONE three-hour snack shack shifts during our West Valley tournament (November 15 & 16) If you would like to buy-out your Snack Shack obligation, you may do so for $300 on www.wvgs.org by clicking on the store.
